If you are a college student, you will probably wonder, “What does this mean?” before you even reach the first syllable. The first words you hear in any given sentence are usually “grammar,” “diction,” and “sentence structure.” It seems pretty straightforward, but it’s still not very clear what it means.
The lesson that I came across most often is the use of a colloquial idiom. A colloquial idiom like “mellody hobson education” means “to know more than one thing” or “to have a lot of knowledge.” In other colloquial idioms, the word “knowledge” is replaced with “much” or “a lot” or “enough.

The movie was about a woman who was a librarian at a college. She had a bunch of books, but she also had a lot of knowledge. She had a lot of knowledge because her job required her to be able to understand as much as possible about as many subjects as possible.

I believe one of the reasons that a lot of people have difficulty with learning is the fact that we’re taught to read like a book. We are told to read a book and then understand the narrative. But this is a book, so if you’re not reading it as a book, you have an entire other set of problems. Because that information really isn’t that valuable once you put it into words.
