I thought the talk was so interesting because, in the introduction, he makes a point of telling us that philosophy is like a good cook. You just can’t learn to cook by watching other people cook and you can’t learn to cook by reading books. Instead, you have to go and see the world for yourself.
Hamilton’s own words are to “concentrate you on the task” and “make you think about how you think about those things that you are actually doing” and “concentrate you on how you think about the things that you are really doing.” I don’t know if you’ve heard of other people who have these words or other people who have words.
