Sure, international education week is the right thing to do, but I believe the phrase should be used instead, for example in an internet forum or in a local newspaper. I think it is better to use it in such a way that will allow you to organize your school activities in your own country’s language.
I would argue that we should not use the phrase “international education week” but rather “language classes” or “reading groups”. I think it is better to choose something that will help us organize our school activities, rather than something that will allow us to organize our school activities in our own countrys language.
Language classes or reading groups are an excellent example of such an activity. When we organize our school activities in our own countrys language, then we can actually talk about the activities in a language that is familiar to us and therefore will be easier to understand. For example, if we are organizing a reading group, it would be much easier for us to talk about the reading topics in our countrys language than if we have just read the same book in English.
Our kids might not be learning English well enough to be able to get an English lesson done. When we are teaching our kids about how to read, we can be so excited that we know they will be able to get it done.
For many foreign-speaking students, the process of learning a language can be very challenging. We may not teach them in our native tongue, and they may not know enough about it to be able to learn it well.
