Here at Brooke County Board of Education, we want to work with you to make sure that every child has a safe, secure, and enjoyable learning environment. Here is a list of some of the things we do to ensure that every child has a safe, secure, and enjoyable learning environment.
We make sure every child gets a comfortable place to go after school. We make sure each child has a place that is safe and comfortable. We monitor our schools for safety and security. We give parents a list of schools in the county that we have a relationship with and we monitor the safety of these schools. We have a list of all the schools and the programs we have in place here at the county.
What exactly are you doing to make sure that every child has a safe, secure, and enjoyable learning environment? Most of us would answer “we make sure they have a place to go after school” or “we monitor their safety and security”. But what do we do about making sure that they have a place to go after school? Well, we pay attention to how they interact with their peers, teachers, and parents.
Some schools have great policies around how they monitor their students. Other schools are more lax, especially those that don’t have a strong background in security. But there are plenty of schools that do a fabulous job of monitoring who they are and where they go. Brooke County in Georgia is a great example of this. While most of the schools don’t have strong policies specifically around monitoring, they do a fantastic job of making sure that they are aware of everything going on in their schools.

Brooke County Schools policy states that if a student is found to have any contact with a known threat, then the student will be escorted to the school’s security office for additional security and the student will be removed from the school.
